The right of withdrawal does not apply to food. Can your online shop tell the difference?
Since June 19, 2026, providing withdrawal instructions and a simple withdrawal function have become mandatory for online shops in Europe.
The right of withdrawal for online purchases in the European Union is governed by Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, which has been transposed into the national law of member states.
Not all online purchases are subject to the "right of withdrawal".
Exemptions from the right of withdrawal include, among others, perishable goods such as food and fresh produce, as well as personalized products or made-to-order items.
In the OIDO Online Shop, products subject to the right of withdrawal can be easily flagged.
Depending on the composition of the order, the corresponding withdrawal instructions are automatically displayed on the receipt screen and on printed receipts.
